What we cover

Our guides follow the three stages of university, from the application before you arrive to the job after you leave.

Applications and prep

The path starts before you arrive. We walk you through the admissions process and help you prepare for the move: personal statements, choosing a course, planning accommodation and comparing universities.

Student life and money

Practical advice for getting through the degree, from handling landlords to managing your maintenance loan. That means student finance and banking, renting and tenant rights, budgeting, and wellbeing and support.

Graduate careers

What comes after the degree. Our careers guides and graduate money advice cover CVs and applications, the job search, interviews and assessments, and salary and tax.

Meet the team

Eight of us write the site, and between us we've published more than 230 guides since August 2025. Each of us covers one subject, so if a housing guide gets something wrong, it's Tom's name on it.

How we work

Each guide is written by one of the editors above. The figures in it come from official sources such as GOV.UK, Student Finance England and UCAS, and we link to those pages so you can check them yourself. When the rules or the numbers change, we update the guide.
