Editorial Policy
At UniSorted.uk, we publish practical guides for UK students and graduates. Every piece of content we produce follows the standards outlined on this page. If you believe any information is inaccurate or outdated, please contact us at hello@unisorted.co.uk and we will review it within 48 hours.
How We Research and Write
Our content is written by people who have been through the UK university and graduate recruitment system themselves. We combine first-hand experience with research from official sources to produce guides that are genuinely useful.
Before publishing, every guide goes through the following process:
- Research: We consult primary sources including GOV.UK, UCAS, the Student Loans Company, Citizens Advice, HMRC, and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Writing: Content is drafted with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and relevance to UK students and graduates aged 18 to 25.
- Review: Each guide is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication. We cross-reference claims against official sources and current legislation.
- Updates: Published content is reviewed regularly and updated when regulations, thresholds, or recommendations change. Every page displays a “last updated” date.
Our Sources
We prioritise official and authoritative sources. These include:
- GOV.UK (student finance, tax, employment rights)
- UCAS (university applications, clearing, offers)
- Student Loans Company (repayment plans, thresholds)
- Citizens Advice (tenancy rights, consumer issues)
- HMRC (tax codes, PAYE, National Insurance)
- ONS (cost of living data, employment statistics)
- The Money and Pensions Service (budgeting, financial wellbeing)
Where we reference statistics or thresholds, we link to the original source wherever possible so you can verify the information yourself.
Financial Information Disclaimer
UniSorted.uk provides general information about student and graduate finances. We are not regulated financial advisers and nothing on this site constitutes regulated financial advice. The information we publish is intended to help you understand your options, not to tell you what to do with your money.
If you need personalised financial advice, we recommend speaking to a qualified financial adviser. You can find one through Unbiased or the MoneyHelper service.
How We Make Money
Some of our guides include affiliate links to products and services. When you click these links and make a purchase or sign up, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the site and keep our content free.
Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial decisions. We recommend products based on genuine usefulness, not commission rates. We do not accept payment for editorial content or positive reviews. For full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
Corrections Policy
If we get something wrong, we fix it. When a correction is made to a published guide, we update the content and the “last updated” date. For significant corrections that change the meaning or advice given, we add a note explaining what was changed and why.
To report an error, email hello@unisorted.co.uk with the page URL and a description of the issue.
Independence
UniSorted.uk is an independent publication. We are not owned by, affiliated with, or funded by any university, bank, or financial institution. Our editorial team makes all content decisions independently. Learn more about the people behind our guides on our About us page.
